We are a business comprising of two restaurants situated in the beautiful Georgian town of Whitehaven on the west coast of Cumbria.

We have the best of both worlds; amazing sea views on one side and the spectacular fells on the other.

Each restaurant has its own style and flavour. At Zest Restaurant we specialise in modern British food with the emphasis on local Cumbrian produce. At Zest Harbourside Café Bar, we offer an ultimate snacking menu designed to enjoy on your own or to share with friends.

Want to learn a bit of history?

Husband and wife team Emma and Ricky Andalcio met whilst working in the catering industry in London. They decided to leave London behind to open their own business in Emma's home town of Whitehaven. Zest Restaurant was converted from an old pub and opened in February 2000. After it's great success the couple decided to expand their business by purchasing a harbour-front disused fish warehouse and turning it into a family friendly, casual bar-café. Zest Harbourside opened in November 2002.

Both restaurants have enjoyed great success due to the quality of Zest's food, superb customer service and Zest's varied and unique style.

Whitehaven is also one of the official starting points of the world renowned Coast To Coast cycle route from Sustrans.

Ricky completed the coast to coast journey in Autumn 2009, click here to learn about his journey.

As Zest Harbourside is right at the beginning (or end) of the route, our restaurant is an official stamping point.

Why not pop in to pick up your stamping cards or to get them stamped...(for you early birders - if we are out of official opening hours, our staff will still be happy to give you your stamps - just knock and ask. ) Otherwise, why not just pop in for a coffee and tell us how your journey is going.
